20 Kid-Friendly Dairy and Soy Free Recipes

(Perfect for Dairy / Soy Intolerant Babies and Toddlers)

My youngest two children have had dairy and soy sensitivities. Luckily, my son has grown out of these, but my youngest—at 15 months—is still intolerant.

Because I have a dairy and soy free baby, meal time has become more difficult. It’s hard to find meals which everyone in the family can enjoy. As a mom of three, I don’t have time to cook multiple meals each time we sit down to eat! Here is a list of 20 dairy-free and soy-free meal ideas which are easy. Many of these recipes can be made ahead and frozen! The best part is, everyone in the family can enjoy! Mom win!

All of these recipes are dairy and soy free, but many of them avoid other common allergens as well! Many are gluten-free and Vegan.

Disclaimer—be sure to check all of your ingredient labels before cooking, to ensure your product does not contain milk or soy!

My personal favorite main dish is chicken breasts with spices cooked in either the oven or the crock pot:

  1. Grease the crock pot with olive oil.
  2. Add chicken breasts.
  3. Sprinkle chicken with olive oil, then with salt, pepper, basil, parsley, and garlic powder.
  4. Cook in the crock pot on low for about 5 and a half or 6 hours, or on high for about three hours (cooking times can vary based on the thickness and size of chicken). Don’t have a crock pot, simply bake it in the oven.

Next, add your favorite side item. You will find lots of side items below. Our personal favorite side item in our house is sweet potato chips:

  1. Peal sweet potatoes.
  2. Slice sweet potatoes into rounds.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and/or pepper.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Flip once.

For another favorite side, add salt and olive oil to water before boiling broccoli. It is super easy and the olive oil gives it a nice flavor.

Helpful Hints:

We use the dairy-free and soy-free cheese from Daiya. They make slices, and shreds. We all love their “cream cheese style spread” [pictured below]! It tastes amazing!

My younger two also love Daiya’s dairy and soy free “Cheezy Mac!” They have a few flavors, and one includes peas.

We use Smart Balance Original—Supports Healthy Cholesterol Levels—as a dairy-free, soy-free butter substitute in our cooking.

We use dairy-free and soy-free bread as well. We are currently using Dave’s Killer Bread: White Bread Done Right. It includes 5 super grains: quinoa, spelt, rye, millet, and barley. I find this one at Publix. My baby doesn’t eat through the bread very fast, so I typically freeze the loaf and pull out a few slices at a time to keep out. It freezes and thaws well!
